1. Information We Collect

When you use InsiderWatch, we collect:

  • Account information: Email address, display name, and hashed password.
  • Usage data: API request counts per endpoint per day, watchlist tickers, alert configurations.
  • Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID. We never store credit card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and request timestamps in server logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To enforce rate limits and subscription tiers
  • To send alerts you have configured (email, webhook)
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To improve the Service (aggregate, anonymized usage analytics)
  • To communicate important changes to the Service or these policies

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not track your trading activity or brokerage accounts
  • We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We do not store credit card numbers (Stripe handles all payment data)

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Stripe: For payment processing (subject to Stripe's privacy policy)
  • Azure (Microsoft): Cloud infrastructure provider where the Service is hosted
  • Anthropic: AI provider for filing classification (filing data only, no personal data)

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained until you delete your account
  • Usage logs: Retained for 90 days, then automatically purged
  • Server logs: Retained for 30 days
  • Filing data: Retained indefinitely (this is public SEC data)

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update your account information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export: Download your data in machine-readable format

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including: encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), database access controls, and secure secret management (Azure Key Vault). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Cookies

InsiderWatch uses only essential cookies/localStorage for authentication (JWT token). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated via email.
